It is estimated that this number will increase to 13 million by 2045. We rank first in Europe in the frequency of individuals with diabetes. If the increase continues like this, our country will be among the top 10 countries where the highest number of people with diabetes live in the adult population in the world by 2045.

Diabetes at School Education Platform is online
Within the scope of the Diabetes at School Program, implemented by the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Health and the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Association with the unconditional support of Sanofi Turkey, in order to improve the quality of life of children with diabetes and to support the early diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes, another important step has been taken this year. Program coordinator Prof. Dr. Şükrü Hatun said, “There are around 30 thousand children under the age of 18 with Type 1 diabetes in our country, and at least 23 thousand of them are school-age children. Children with diabetes spend at least 30 hours a week at school. The aim of this program is to strengthen the care of children with diabetes at school, and to help teachers and students in early diagnosis by teaching the signs of diabetes in children.
