Chickie Donohue decides to do something completely infamous to show her support for her neighborhood friends serving in Vietnam. He travels to the front on his own to take something that you like best with him from the houses of his friends. But this well-intentioned journey plunges Chickie into the complexities and responsibilities of adult life as she confronts the reality of this controversial war and reunites with her childhood friends.
